Pakistan Likely to Hold Training Camp in UAE

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to set up a training camp in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) later this month as part of the national team’s preparations for two major back-to-back tournaments — the tri-nation T20I series and the Asia Cup 2025.

Sources suggest the camp will begin on August 22, giving the players time to acclimatise to UAE conditions before competitive action begins.

Pakistan will first feature in the tri-nation series alongside Afghanistan and the UAE, starting August 29 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Green Shirts will face Afghanistan in the tournament opener at 7:00 PM local time. Each team will play the others twice, with the top two sides meeting in the final on September 7.

According to insiders, two to three changes could be made to Pakistan’s squad for the triangular series. However, a full-strength lineup is expected for the Asia Cup 2025, which runs from September 9 to 28 in the UAE.

The Asia Cup, to be played in the T20I format, will feature eight teams split into two groups of four. The top two from each group will advance to the Super Four stage.

Group-stage action begins on September 9 with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong in Dubai. The highly anticipated Pakistan vs India clash is scheduled for September 14, also in Dubai.

The tournament had faced uncertainty due to a standoff between the PCB and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but recent developments have confirmed its staging in the UAE.
