
The Asia Cup 2025 returns to the T20 format, aligning with preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. The tournament begins on September 9 and will conclude with the final in Dubai on September 28.
Sri Lanka lifted the trophy the last time the competition was held in this format, defeating Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup final at the Dubai International Stadium.
Group Stage
Eight teams will compete in the group stage, divided into two groups of four:
- Group A: India, Pakistan, Oman, UAE
- Group B: Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong
Each team will play the others in its group once. The top two sides from each group will qualify for the Super 4s.
Super 4s
The Super 4 stage will be played in a round-robin format. Each of the four teams will face each other once. At the end of this stage, the top two teams on the points table will advance to the final.
Final
The Asia Cup 2025 final is scheduled for September 28 at the Dubai International Stadium. The winner will be crowned champion of Asia’s premier T20 competition.
