The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025, to be held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28.
The biggest highlight is the return of Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, who has been recalled after a three-year absence from T20Is. The wicketkeeper-batter last played for Bangladesh in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
Sohan replaces Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who struggled with both bat and ball this year. Miraz, however, has been kept as one of the standby players for the Asia Cup alongside Soumya Sarkar, Tanvir Islam and Hasan Mahmud.
The inclusion of Saif Hassan strengthens the batting line-up, while experienced campaigners Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, and Shoriful Islam will lead the pace attack. Rishad Hossain and Nasum Ahmed add variety in the spin department.
Bangladesh have been drawn in Group B, where they will face Hong Kong (September 11), Sri Lanka (September 13), and Afghanistan (September 16) in the group stage.
