India to Play Asia Cup Without Jersey Sponsor

Team India will walk into the Asia Cup 2025 without a jersey sponsor after fantasy sports giant Dream11 ended its partnership with the BCCI. According to a report by India Today, the decision comes in the wake of the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill 2025, which bans real-money gaming platforms in the country.

An emergency Apex Council meeting was chaired by interim BCCI president Rajeev Shukla on Thursday to address the sponsorship void. Despite discussions with potential brands, including Toyota and a leading fintech start-up, officials concluded that there isn’t enough time to seal a fresh deal before the Asia Cup begins on September 9 in the UAE.

Sources revealed that the BCCI is unwilling to rush into a short-term arrangement, instead prioritizing a long-term sponsorship contract that could run until the 2027 ODI World Cup. The board believes such an approach will not only ensure stability but also fetch higher value than the recently ended Dream11 deal.

As things stand, India’s players are set to take the field in plain jerseys — without any sponsor logos — when they face off in Dubai and Abu Dhabi during the Asia Cup.
