Analysis: Balanced squad eyeing upsets

Hong Kong’s squad is a mix of seasoned campaigners and rising names. With Murtaza leading and experienced players like Babar Hayat, Kinchit Shah, and Ehsan Khan in the ranks, the team has the firepower to challenge stronger Asian sides. The spin-heavy unit could thrive in UAE conditions, while young quicks like Ayush Shukla and Ali-Hassan add pace options.

Their underdog tag means less pressure — but as history shows, Hong Kong are capable of surprises. One upset win could open the door to a Super Four qualification, making them a team to watch in Group B.
