Kedar Jadhav Questions India-Pakistan Clash in Asia Cup 2025

Ind vs Pak Should Not Happen in Asia Cup

Former India all-rounder Kedar Jadhav has sparked discussion ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 by expressing his views on the high-profile India-Pakistan matchup. While he acknowledged India’s strength to overcome any opponent, Jadhav stated that, in his opinion, the match itself should not take place.

Speaking to the media, he said, “India has the talent and capability to win any game, including against Pakistan. But personally, I feel this particular clash should not be played.”

Jadhav’s comments echo earlier remarks made by former spinner Harbhajan Singh, who questioned the emphasis placed on India-Pakistan fixtures. Highlighting the sacrifices of soldiers and the broader significance of national priorities, Jadhav noted that skipping a cricket match is minor in comparison to their contributions.

The ACC has already confirmed the Asia Cup 2025 schedule. The tournament will be held in the UAE from September 9 to 28, featuring eight teams divided into two groups. India and Pakistan are in Group A along with the UAE and Oman, while Group B consists of Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong. India is set to face Oman on September 12, with the marquee clash against Pakistan scheduled for September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

With the top two teams from each group advancing to the Super Four stage, a potential second India-Pakistan encounter could occur on September 21. The tournament will serve as preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which India will co-host with Sri Lanka.
