Pakistan Squad for Bangladesh T20Is Series

Lahore, 8 July 2025 — With less than two months to go for the Asia Cup 2025, Pakistan have announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against Bangladesh, offering a strong indication of the players in contention for the continental event.

All-rounder Salman Ali Agha will continue to lead the side in the absence of senior players, while Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf miss out due to injury setbacks.

The three-match T20I series is scheduled from July 20 to 24 in Dhaka and is being seen as a preparatory phase ahead of the Asia Cup, which is expected to take place in the UAE in September.

Key Absences Raise Questions Ahead of Asia Cup

Shadab, Pakistan’s regular vice-captain in white-ball cricket, is currently recovering from shoulder surgery in the UK. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf has been ruled out after picking up a hamstring injury during the MLC 2025.

Both players remain doubtful for the Asia Cup, and their absence has forced selectors to explore alternate options.

Emerging Faces, Familiar Names

Salman Mirza, who made headlines during PSL 9 with nine wickets in just four matches for Lahore Qalandars, has earned a maiden call-up. His inclusion could be a test run for a potential Asia Cup role.

Other key names in the squad include Fakhar Zaman, Faheem Ashraf, Mohammad Haris, Saim Ayub, and Khushdil Shah — players who have been in and out of the T20I setup in recent months.
